Italy is the Danes’ favorite wine country and an endless treasure trove of wines of all kinds, thanks to its more than 300 different grape varieties and varied climate conditions. Wine is grown in every corner of the country from the Alps to sunny Sicily.
This evening we take you to the land of the boot to immerse ourselves in Italian wines. It will be a journey through the main Italian wine regions, tasting 5 different wines from the Alps to Sicily, while we talk about classic and new wine regions, grape varieties, production methods and producers.
Look forward to a cozy and relaxed evening and not least a fantastic taste experience while enjoying the view of the picturesque nature. There is hardly any better way to experience Odense River.
The atmosphere is relaxed and there is plenty of room for both chatting and socializing on board.

What is Wine Tasting: Italian Wines?
Italian wines is a themed wine tasting with Odense Aafart, taking you on a tasting journey through Italy – from the northern wine regions of the Alps to the sunny vineyards of Sicily. Italy is one of the Danes’ favorite wine countries with more than 300 grape varieties and a great variety of wines.
What can you expect from the experience?
You can expect a cozy and educational evening with tastings of wines from different Italian regions, presentation of grapes and production methods, as well as stories about classic and new Italian wine regions – all while the tour boat sails on the Odense River.
Who is the event for?
The event is aimed at adult wine enthusiasts – both beginners and those who want to learn more about Italian wines and their differences in style and character.

Where do Italian wines sail?
The sailing takes place on Odense River on the same stretch as Odense Aafart’s other tour boats.
Can you get off on the way?
No, the tour is conducted as a single event without boarding and disembarking along the way.

Do I need to buy a ticket in advance?
Yes, tickets must be purchased in advance via Odense Aafart’s website, as there are a limited number of seats.

Only if seats are available. It is recommended to book well in advance.
Can you use gift cards?
Yes, if the gift card is valid for events at Odense Aafart.
Is there an age limit?
Yes – the event is for adults over the age of 18, as alcohol is included in the tasting.
Practical information on board
Can I bring my own drinks?
No, you are not allowed to bring your own drinks as drinks are sold on board.
Is there a toilet on board?
There is no toilet on board the tour boats. We recommend that you use the restrooms before departure.
Can I get on the tour boat with a wheelchair?
Only manual wheelchairs can enter the tour boat. There are two steps down into the boats. There are no ramps, so it takes a pair of hands to help you down the two steps and into the boat. Then we carry the chair down afterwards.
Rollators can be brought along.
Can you smoke on board the tour boats?
Generally no, unless otherwise agreed for private tours.
Does Odense Aafart sail in all weathers?
Yes, Odense Aafart sails in all kinds of weather. The boats are covered and we sail on the Odense River on a stretch that is well protected from wind and weather.

You’ll learn about the diversity of Italian wine, the different wine regions, grapes and flavor profiles – from light whites to more robust reds – as well as tips on what the wines pair well with food.
