What is Carlslund?

Carlslund was built in 1871 by Chamberlain Chr. Benzon at Kristiansdal – now Dalum Kloster. The restaurant is named after his son, Carl, and since its construction, Carlslund has only had seven different hosts. That says something about the soul of the place.

Despite a fire in 2015, the history is still felt in the surroundings and the building – because Carlslund was rebuilt by local investors in exactly the same style with oak woodwork and thatched roof. A place that has survived both fire and time, and still brings Odenseans together generation after generation.
