You can rent the pedal boats from our ticket office at Filosofgangen 30B, or you can book them in advance for your desired date and time.
How to rent a water bike
- To rent a bike, you must present valid identification (driver’s license or passport—if you are under 18, a health insurance card is acceptable) at the kiosk when you pay for the first hour of rental. Presenting valid identification is a requirement for rental.
- A water bike may carry a maximum of four adults and one small child (up to 3 years old) (or a total weight of up to 300 kg). If there are more than 4 people (or more than 300 kg), you must rent an additional water bike. Both requirements must be met. Therefore, you cannot have 5 people on board even if your combined weight is less than 300 kg.
- If you ride for longer than 1 hour, you’ll pay for the extra time when you pick up your ID at the kiosk after your ride. The fee is calculated per 15-minute increment. For online bookings, where you book and pay for the desired duration in advance, the pedal boat must be returned on time. If the pedal boat is not returned on time, double the rental rate will be charged per quarter-hour or part thereof to ensure that the next renter can depart on time.
- It’s a good idea to use the restroom and buy coffee before renting the pedal boats, as your rental time begins as soon as you’ve paid.
- We do not have life jackets

- All boating is at your own risk.
- Keep an eye on where you’re sailing, as you’ll have to free yourselves if you get stuck in shallow water, low-hanging branches, or anything else.
- If there is one or more people under the age of 13 in the boat, there must also be at least one person over the age of 18 in the boat.
You must sail considerately and always give way to the tour boats, as they cannot leave the navigation channel. - The water bikes must be returned to the same location where they were picked up (Filosofgangen 30B).
- We do not store personal belongings—these must be carried on the water bike.
- We reserve the right to refuse rental to visibly intoxicated or impaired individuals.
- Speakers are not permitted.

The pedal boats are exempt from life jackets, so if you need life jackets, you must bring them yourself.

A pedal boat is a human-powered boat with pedals that allows you to ‘cycle’ on water. It is stable and easy to use for beginners.
Can we bring our own food and drinks and enjoy them while riding a pedal boat?
Yes, you can do that. Make sure to take your trash with you before you leave the water bike.
Can we store our stroller or pushchair while we’re sailing?
Yes, but you need to have bought a ticket to Odense ZOO. You can also get on at ZOO and pay for the boat trip to the skipper or hop off at Munke Mose and pay at our kiosk. Please note that you are not allowed to bring dogs into the Zoo.
Is smoking allowed on board the water bike?
Yes, you can, as long as you don’t throw cigarette codes in the river or water bike.
Are there student or senior discounts?
There is a 10% student discount on pedal boat rental. A valid student ID must be presented.

You can take the free Citybus, which stops almost right outside the door. Get off at Søndergade/Vestergade or Holsdore. The bus runs approximately every 10 minutes: Monday–Friday 9 a.m.–4:30 p.m. and Saturday 11 a.m.–3:30 p.m.
