Here you’ll find the current schedule for Odense Aafart for the 2026 season. The calendar shows all departures for the River cruise on the Odense River, from the season’s first trip through to the last departure, as well as events.

During peak season, we sail daily with several departures per hour, while in April and October there are fewer daily trips. We always recommend checking the schedule before departure so you can plan your trip from Munke Mose, Odense Zoo, or Fruens Bøge.

A trip with Odense Aafart takes about 1 hour in total.

Departures from Munke Mose are always on the ‘hour’.
Departures from Odense Zoo are always 20 minutes past the hour (stops are made only at Fruens Bøge on the route between Munke Mose and Fruens Bøge). Departures from Fruens Bøge are always at half past the hour.

You decide whether you want to start your tour at the Odense Aafart kiosk in Munke Mose near Odense Zoo or in Fruens Bøge. If you start the tour from Odense Zoo or Fruens Bøge and haven’t purchased a ticket in advance, you can pay on board using MobilePay.

You’re welcome to split the trip and make a stop either in Fruens Bøge or in Munke Mose in downtown Odense. When you book your ticket, first select your “outbound trip” and then your “return trip.” You choose where these trips start and end, and whether you’d like to take a break along the way before heading home.

Departure locations

All sightseeing cruises depart from Munke Mose and head toward Fruens Bøge, with a stop at Odense Zoo.

You can board at:

  • Munke Mose – Filosofgangen 30B, 5000 Odense C

  • Odense Zoo – requires a valid admission ticket to the zoo

  • Fruens Bøge – Erik Bøghs Sti

Meeting time

Please arrive at least 15 minutes before departure.
The boats depart on time and cannot wait for late passengers.

Sailing time

A full river cruise takes about 1 hour.

  • Munke Mose → Odense Zoo: about 20 minutes

  • Odense Zoo → Fruens Bøge: about 10 minutes

  • Munke Mose → Fruens Bøge: about 30 minutes

  • Fruens Bøge → Munke Mose: about 30 minutes

The boat does not stop at Odense Zoo on the return trip.

Ticket and booking

You can buy a ticket:

  • Online via the website

  • At the ticket office in Munke Mose

  • Upon boarding at Fruens Bøge, if space is available

When you book, select both your outbound and return trips.
This guarantees you a seat on the selected departures.

When do the boats depart?

Odense Aafart’s opening hours vary throughout the season. On this page you can always see today’s opening hours and upcoming days for ticket sales, water bike rental and outdoor café by Odense River.

A river cruise takes about 1 hour from start to finish.
You can break up the trip and get off along the way. You choose your departure and return times when you book.

If you arrive late, you can sail on a later departure on the same day if seats are available. We cannot guarantee a seat.

Yes. We sail in all kinds of weather.
The boats are covered, and you can borrow a blanket at the ticket office on chilly days.

Yes. Strollers and baby carriages may be brought on board for a fee equivalent to one child’s ticket per stroller or carriage.

  • Max. 2 strollers per departure

  • Twin strollers are not permitted

Yes, as long as the dog does not disturb other guests.
Dogs are not allowed at Odense Zoo.

Manual wheelchairs are allowed on board.
There are two steps down into the boats, and the staff will be happy to assist you.
There is no ramp.

If you are more than 6 people, we always recommend booking in advance to secure seats on the desired departure.

There is no restroom on board.
There is a restroom at the dock in Munke Mose.

You can change your reservation up to 24 hours before departure for the River cruise on the Odense River.

As a general rule, event tickets cannot be changed.
