Aafarten is happy to recommend a number of talented musicians and bands who consistently deliver outstanding performances and create a lively atmosphere on board.
Whether you prefer acoustic rock/pop, jazz, guitar, harmonica, or folk songs, we have something for every taste.
Our sound system is at your disposal, so you can add your own music and personal touch to the trip. Make your cruise even more memorable with the perfect soundtrack.

If you’d like to listen to music on board, you’ll need to rent your own tour boat. Prices are listed on the website.

You’re welcome to bring your own band, and we’re also happy to recommend local bands.
Please note that the boat must depart on time; if the band needs time to set up, the boat must be rented for that purpose.

Sailing with live music is a private event where you combine sailing on the Odense River with live music on board. A musician or a small band creates the atmosphere during the cruise while you enjoy the surroundings.
How long has Odense Aafart been sharing the history of the Odense River?
Odense Aafart has sailed on the Odense River for over 130 years and has for generations communicated the city’s history and nature to both locals and visitors.
Is this a regular boat tour?
No, it’s not. This is a private group booking where the boat is rented for your event and the live music is part of the experience.
What makes this experience different?
You get a unique combination of nature, intimacy and music – in the middle of Odense. The atmosphere on board differs significantly from traditional events on land.
Is this experience geared more toward tourists or locals?
Sailing with live music is primarily aimed at companies, associations and private groups – but is also ideal for guests from outside who want a different experience in Odense.

Where does the cruise take place?
The cruise takes place on Odense River on the same route as Aafart’s other private events – departing from Munke Mose and sailing towards Fruens Bøge.
Can the route be customized?
For private bookings, we can customize the duration and focus to suit your program.
Can you get off along the way?
As a rule, the event takes place as one continuous voyage. Any special requests are agreed in advance.
Can we sail to Den Fynske Landsby?
Yes, Odense Aafart offers boat tours to Fruens Bøge Forest, which is located near the Funen Village Museum. From the Aafart pier, it’s about a 900-meter walk through the beautiful beech forest along the stream.
You can therefore take a boat ride with Odense Aafart and experience the museum at Den Fynske Landsby, the H.C. Andersen Festival, and concerts.
How long does the event last?
The duration depends on how long you rent the tour boat. The music is scheduled as part of the agreed sailing time.

How do you book a boat tour with live music?
The event is booked as a private group experience via Odense Aafart. You send an inquiry with the desired date, number of participants and duration.
When do I need to buy tickets in advance?
Musik på Åen requires advance booking. It is recommended to book well in advance – especially during peak season.
Can this event be given as a gift?
Yes, sailing with live music can be used as a gift experience for both corporate and private groups.
Practical information on board
Are dogs allowed on board?
For private tours, this is agreed individually when booking.
Is there a restroom on board?
There is no toilet on board the tour boats. We recommend that you use the restrooms before departure.
Can you board the tour boat in a wheelchair?
Only manual wheelchairs can enter the tour boat. There are two steps down into the boats. There are no ramps, so you need a pair of hands to help you down the two steps and into the boat. Then we carry the chair down afterwards.
Walkers can be brought along.
Can you bring your own food and drinks and enjoy them while sailing?
Yes, but not on trips where we sell beverages (e.g., Musik på Åen). It must not disturb others. We do recommend that you order drinks in advance at our kiosk to save you the trouble. They’ll be packed and ready before departure.
For private tours, this can be arranged at the time of booking.
Can I bring a stroller?
For a private tour, strollers can be brought along by appointment.
Is smoking allowed on board the tour boats?
Generally no, unless otherwise agreed for private tours.
Does Odense Aafart operate in all kinds of weather?
Yes, Odense Aafart sails in all kinds of weather. The boats are covered and we sail on the Odense River on a stretch that is well protected from wind and weather.
