About Odense Aafart
We have been sailing up Odense’s beautiful and adventurous river since 1882, we offer many idyllic experiences on Odense River. We have gone from transporting ‘the rich and famous’ from Munke Mose to Fruens Bøge to being an adventurous experience for all age groups. Today, we embrace everything from family Sunday trips on the river, wine tasting and music events, as well as team building events in the form of our Mystery Tour. With us, you can enjoy the beautiful nature and cozy company while sailing with the tour boat, rowing with the canoe or cycling with the pedal boat.
Our mission is to create unforgettable experiences and events on and around Odense River. It is important for us to innovate and organize events together with our partners that benefit you. We want you to feel a warm welcome, and we do our best to make sure you have a good and unforgettable experience.
The history of Odense Aafart
Since 1882, Odense Aafart has sailed on Odense’s beautiful river. Odense Aafart has gone from transporting ‘the rich and famous’ from Munke Mose to Fruens Bøge to being a journey for everyone. Today, Odense Aafart embraces everything from family Sunday trips on the river, wine tasting and music events to adventurous boat trips with H.C. Andersen as narrator. Our Experiences on the Water
Take the tour boat for a trip in the green
Hop on board and experience a scenic cruise that will take you along the gardens of Odense’s beautiful old neighborhoods.
Sail from Munke Mose in the center of Odense, past Odense Zoo and out to Bøgeskoven in Fruens Bøge. You can get on and off at all three ports of call.
The Odense Aafart ticket is valid for the whole day, so you can hop off during the trip. A trip with Odense Aafart can therefore be combined with a visit to Funen Village or Odense Zoo.
The tour takes 1 hour in total, and along the way we stop at Odense Zoo and Fruens Bøge. See a map of the boat trip.
Set sail on your own
You can also experience the beautiful nature on your own in one of our pedal boats or canoes. Both can be rented at our kiosk at Filosofgangen 30. Pedal boats are rented by the hour and canoes by the day.
From April 1 to November 1, you have the opportunity to book your own boat for your events such as weddings and birthdays. There are many options for extras such as music, lectures, tastings, guided tours, snacks, drinks, coffee and cake. We have 3 boats, where the 2 have a capacity of 70 people and the 3rd has a capacity of 55 people.
Experiences for Kids
This year we can give you a new experience on Odense River, where you can go on a treasure hunt, solve the riddles and save Odense from Piggy Gorm. You sail out on the boat from Munke Mose, and then have an hour to solve the puzzles in the forest in Fruens Bøge before the boat sails you back.
The treasure hunt takes 2 hours in total

Yes, you can. At Odense Aafart you can also sail out on your own.
We rent out:

What is the season for pedal boats and canoes?
Pedal boats and canoes can be booked from April 1 to November 1.
It is recommended to book well in advance during high season.

How do you book?
What can children experience at Odense Aafart?
Odense Aafart offers experiences for children on Odense River, including treasure hunts, puzzles and themed trips.
Children can go on a treasure hunt, solving tasks in the forest at Fruens Bøge and sailing from Munke Mose. The treasure hunt lasts approximately 2 hours in total and combines movement, nature, and storytelling.

Yes, we have cozy outdoor seating in beautiful Munke Mosewhere you can relax and enjoy the view of Odense River. It’s the perfect place to sit down with a cup of coffee, a cold drink or some food from the kiosk.
Our seating is reserved for guests of Odense Aafart – i.e. in connection with purchases in the kiosk or participation in one of our sailing trips or events.
