When you think of Fruens Bøge today, you probably associate it with cozy moments with family and friends under the beautiful green beech trees.
However, the story was different 50 years ago in 1972.
Back in the free and colorful 70s, it was a time of music, flowers, free love and tolerance. One of the most prominent figures in the Odense youth rebellion was Tanja Flyholm. She had big plans to establish a sanctuary in Fruens Bøge. Unfortunately, it turned out that tolerance was not as great as people thought.
A brutal murder took place in the otherwise idyllic Fruens Bøge. Tanja Flyholm was found murdered. But who was behind it?
At the time, Bent Bjerre was a young, newly qualified police officer at Odense Police. However, Bent and his investigation unit never managed to solve the tragic case. Now you have the opportunity to revisit the case and see if you can solve the murder. Bent Bjerre is going to enjoy his retirement, but before he can do that, the tragic murder case must be solved.

Here's how it works
The tour begins at Munke Mose, where the tour boat will take you out to Fruens Bøge. On board, Bent Bjerre will tell you about the time in the 70s and not least the story of that fateful day in 1972.
Then, upon arrival at Fruens Bøge, the race against time to solve the murder mystery begins.
You need to get out your detective hat, but you need to be quick and think clearly. It’s a race against time and not least against the other investigation units. During your tour around Fruens Bøge, you’ll have to decode signs and symbols, decipher mysterious letters, crack codes – and not least cooperate. You must show that you are the best at putting all the clues together at the end to find the real killer.
After a fun and exciting trip around Fruens Bøge, you will be sailed back, and along the way the winning investigation unit will be announced.
Whether you want to strengthen your teamwork skills or just have a different and fun afternoon together, it’s the perfect experience for a corporate event or with a group of friends.

Where does the sailing take place?
The cruise takes place on Odense River on the same route as Aafart’s other private events – departing from Munke Mose and sailing towards Fruens Bøge. The trip can also start from Fruens Bøge and end at Munke Mose.

Can you get off on the way?
Mystery Tours are conducted as a complete experience and there is generally no pick-up and drop-off along the way.

The duration depends on the specific Mystery Tour, but follows the planned sailing of the event.

Do I need to buy a ticket in advance?
Yes, Mystery Tours require ticket purchase in advance via Odense Aafart’s website, as there are a limited number of seats.
Can you use gift cards?
Yes, if the gift card is valid for Odense Aafart events, it can be used when booking.
Are there fixed dates?
Yes, Mystery Tours are held on selected dates and times.
Practical information on board
Can I bring dogs?
For private tours, this is agreed individually when booking.
Is there a toilet on board?
There is no toilet on board the tour boats. We recommend that you use the restrooms before departure.
Can I get on the tour boat with a wheelchair?
Only manual wheelchairs can enter the tour boat. There are two steps down into the boats. There are no ramps, so it takes a pair of hands to help you down the two steps and into the boat. Then we carry the chair down afterwards.
Rollators can be brought along.
Can I bring my own drinks and food and enjoy them while sailing?
This depends on the specific Mystery Tour. If drinks are sold on board, you are not allowed to bring your own drinks.
Can I bring a stroller?
For a private tour, strollers can be brought along by appointment.
Can you smoke on board the tour boats?
Generally no, unless otherwise agreed for private tours.
Does Odense Aafart sail in all weathers?
Yes, Odense Aafart sails in all kinds of weather. The boats are covered and we sail on the Odense River on a stretch that is well protected from wind and weather.
