Who brews the best beers in Funen?
This year, Beer Sommelier Jakob Højager will challenge Anarkist Beer & Food Lab in the battle to see who brews the best beer on Funen.
For seven years we have held this traditional Beer Battle at Odense Aafart, and 2026 will be no exception. The atmosphere is cheerful, but the battle is all-important – and you’re invited to be the judge.
To give even more people the chance, we’ve decided to organize the Beer Battle twice this year, as tickets always sell out quickly.
You taste six beers – three from Jakob Højager and three from Anarkist – across three different beer types. Your vote decides the winner and you might even find a new favorite beer along the way.
Whether you’re an experienced beer connoisseur or just love a good beer, you’ll get an experience filled with knowledge, fun and great flavors. Along the way, you can ask questions about the beers and about beer in general.
So join us on the river, where we taste the best Funen has to offer – and where the beer horizon is expanded with exciting conversations and new favorites.

What is Beer Tasting: Beer Battle?
Beer Tasting – Beer Battle is an entertaining and tasteful boat trip with Odense Aafart, where different beers are pitted against each other in a “battle”. Along the way, participants taste several beers and vote for their favorites.
What is Beer Battle all about?
The concept is to compare beer types – for example, light versus dark, IPA versus lager or classic versus modern – and find a winner. The tasting combines learning, dialog and social atmosphere.
Who is the event for?
The event is aimed at adults over the age of 18 who want a different and interactive beer tasting on Odense River.
Route & Stop
Where does the Beer Battle sail to?
The sailing takes place on Odense River on the same stretch as Odense Aafart’s other tour boats.
Can you get off on the way?
No, the tour is conducted as a single event without boarding and disembarking along the way.
How long does the trip last?
The duration depends on the specific event, but typically around 1.5 hours.

Do I need to buy a ticket in advance?
Yes, tickets must be purchased in advance via Odense Aafart’s website, as there are a limited number of seats.

Yes, if the gift card is valid for events at Odense Aafart.
Is there an age limit?

Practical information on board
Can I bring my own drinks?
No, you are not allowed to bring your own drinks to this event.
Is there a toilet on board?
There is no toilet on board the tour boats. We recommend that you use the restrooms before departure.
Can I get on the tour boat with a wheelchair?
Only manual wheelchairs can enter the tour boat. There are two steps down into the boats. There are no ramps, so it takes a pair of hands to help you down the two steps and into the boat. Then we carry the chair down afterwards.
Rollators can be brought along.
Can you smoke on board the tour boats?
Generally no, unless otherwise agreed for private tours.
Does Odense Aafart sail in all weathers?
Yes, Odense Aafart sails in all kinds of weather. The boats are covered and we sail on the Odense River on a stretch that is well protected from wind and weather.

Participants taste several selected beers, which are pitted against each other in different categories.
Is Beer Battle suitable for a birthday or bachelor party?
Yes, Beer Battle is a great social experience for a birthday, bachelor party or an evening with friends. Tickets are purchased individually for a fixed date.
Is it a competition?
Yes, attendees get to vote and choose a favorite among the beers included in the battle format.
Is the atmosphere festive or educational?
The experience combines beer knowledge with a relaxed and entertaining atmosphere where there is room for laughter and taste discussions.
