Introducing wines that match light and fresh summer dishes – perfect for everything from salads and seafood to grilled vegetables. Here we will focus on wines that, with their lively acidity and fruity aromas, create a fresh balance to the mild and delicate flavors.
Of course, we also taste wines that work great with grilled food. These wines offer more richness and character to complement the intense flavors of grilled meats and spicy dishes.
We also taste the wines that bring celebration and elegance to the table, whether as a fresh aperitif, a refreshing accompaniment to summer desserts, or simply as the finishing touch to a cozy evening.
During the tasting, we’ll explore how the structure, aroma and character of wine can enhance the flavors of whatever is being served. We’ll dive into wine origins, serving tips and wine and food pairings so you can get the most out of your summer meals.

Wine Tasting: Summer Wines is a themed wine tasting with Odense Aafart, where you join a summery boat trip on Odense River and taste wines that capture the essence of summer’s light and fruity character – perfect for salads, grilled food, seafood and cozy summer evenings.

You can expect a fun, social and educational wine tasting on board the tour boat where a sommelier will guide you through a selection of summer wines with a focus on taste, scent and character, all suitable for summer meals and ambiance.

The event is aimed at adult wine enthusiasts, both novice and seasoned, who want to learn about wines that match summer food and style.

Where does Sommervine sail?
The sailing takes place on Odense River on the same stretch as Odense Aafart’s other tour boats.
Can you get off on the way?
No, the tour is conducted as a single event without boarding and disembarking along the way.
How long does the trip last?
The duration depends on the specific event, but typically around 1.5 hours.

Do I need to buy a ticket in advance?
Yes, tickets must be purchased in advance via Odense Aafart’s website, as there are a limited number of seats.

Only if seats are available. It is recommended to book well in advance.
Can you use gift cards?
Yes, if the gift card is valid for events at Odense Aafart.
Is there an age limit?
Yes – the event is for adults (18+) as alcohol is included in the tasting.
Practical information on board
Can I bring my own drinks?
No, you are not allowed to bring your own drinks as drinks are sold on board.
Is there a toilet on board?
There is no toilet on board the tour boats. We recommend that you use the restrooms before departure.
Can I get on the tour boat with a wheelchair?
Only manual wheelchairs can enter the tour boat. There are two steps down into the boats. There are no ramps, so it takes a pair of hands to help you down the two steps and into the boat. Then we carry the chair down afterwards.
Rollators can be brought along.
Can you smoke on board the tour boats?
Generally no, unless otherwise agreed for private tours.
Does Odense Aafart sail in all weathers?
Yes, Odense Aafart sails in all kinds of weather. The boats are covered and we sail on the Odense River on a stretch that is well protected from wind and weather.

You’ll learn how summer wines differ in style and character from other wines, which grape varieties are typical, and how they pair with summer food and social gatherings.
Is it a nice social experience?
Yes – the atmosphere is relaxed and social, with plenty of opportunities for chat, questions and shared wine tasting among participants as the tour boat glides through the nature of Odense Ås.
